This is the worst slew of commercials I have ever heard at one time on one station.

There's a stupid new batch of Greenlight commercials.
Lowe's is awful with the wailin witch in the background.
State Farm with the annoying "we live where yooooo livvvvve'.
That stupid clown/gremlin voice for something who makes 'jokes'.
Some squeeky little girl singing a car jingle.
The 'girl group' singing about carpets or fabrics or something.

And a few others blissfully escaping my memory.

I keep turning the radio off and then forgeting to turn it back on.

Who comes up with the awful commercials?

At least we don't have to hear LATimes commercials, but yeah, as a whole, pretty bad.

One more really really bad one.

That stolid piece of suds for AT&T 'Business Buddies" or whatever that has for dullards talking one after another giving 'advice' to someone who wants to get a deal on pretzel salt or something. Corny faux Irish music in the background al a TITANIC.

Gotta be a 60 second commercial.

*But at least Windhole is gone! He disappeared along with the bad Twilight Zone shows. I guess he is in another dimension now..or an asylum. I wonder if that last crazed show did him in?

The ones on my hate list now ....are the "small business solutions"...if they're the A, T & T ones. I try to turn them off, too. The FIRST time I heard it was enough...don't need to hear it again and again.

And what's even worse, it's not only on KFI, but now on KSLX

Is anyone else ready to cram the Living Air Classic "one the size of a small stereo speaker for not just one room, but the whole house" down someone's throat?

For expensive as they appear to be, it's amazing that so many KFI hosts have one, as well as KABC, and KLSX.

The most obnoxious commercials to me, though for 2003 crappy ads are the Greenlight Financial ones.

I think those "small business solutions" commercials are American Express????? Anyway, the first time I heard one, I was IMMEDIATELY annoyed (as if I'm not with the others). It went on and on and on ...... So one day while I was driving home from work, I decided to time that commercial: 1 minute and 45 seconds!!!!!! Ugggghhhhh Evil or Very Mad When those come on now, I flip the dial to KABC or ESPN radio, wait 2 minutes, and come back for the next over-played KFI commercial Bangs Head Against Wall

Oh well, if that's what it takes for GREAT talk radio, I'll take it Smile

Thank you DV, yes it is for American Express. I unfortunately woke up to it this morning. I thought it was long too.....all of the times I've heard it.

I don't know how long you've been listening to KFI, but it wasn't always this bad.

Yeah...I agree, if we can't get the show any other way have to deal with those awful commercials.

Btw, when John and Ken were on in the mornings (ugh) on KABC I missed a lot of it, but it didn't really matter, because over night...KABC played the entire show over. It was great, no commercials, no traffic breaks. Just the show, which took a heck of a lot less time if you didn't mind staying up late to hear it.

One minute and 45 seconds!! Oh, man, I knew they were running long, but not that long. Dreadful.

AND...I dare not leave out that completely horrid "P-Touch People" ad. I thought the guy was singing 'Pizza people'. What a grating voice that dude possesses.

That tune is an instant shut off for me. Glad the radio is right here. Easy off.

AHA! Just aborted a stupid Greenlight 'knock knock' commercial. too bad for the next commercial who I 'might' have bought a product from.

I heard yet another "small business solutions" commercial by American Express this morning, and yes - I timed it again. I would like to announce that they broke their old record of 1 minute and 45 seconds with a whopping 2 minutes and 2 seconds Applause . Congratulations A.E.!!!! You've outdone yourselves again Bangs Head Against Wall

Of course this was aired duing Bill Handel's show, which is already commercial-infested, so I'm really not surprised.

Horrific! Instant turn off the radio time.

Also bad - Cadillac(!!!) commercial music.

"Don't tell Sacramentoooo" - that goof for Power cars or something.

My all time most hated commercial used to begin,

"Your gift of hope is a great deduction..."

Remember that one?

how can we ever forget those...?

I still hear them...give us your car, your boat, your RV sitting in the driveway taking up space..oh and we'll take valuable artwork, real estate notes.

Help a family just starting over......etc.

Those commercials made me cringe because they played right into the stereotype of Jews being greedy and cheap.

Those commercials for whatever charity it was are still on, but with revised copy.

All the "give us your car' ads were basically the same. "Father Joe" the priest. That fellow didn't look very savory to me.

And there were all the other 'made up' charities with the same gimmick. There is even a new one running on KFI. It's a bit of a racket as some of those places seemed to have very high 'operating' costs and very little car donation money was going to charities.

All the Epsom ink jet printer ads; currently the one with the diva dunked in water.

Ain't funny and that opera noise is a drag.

Same with Dick Clark's commercials for Indian gambling places with the stupid people coming up to him and singing or talking about their talentless relatives.

All the above posted commercials have been bugging me for quite a while. It just taken me awhile to remember them all.

How about those commercials for people locking their kids in the car or the kid who calls cuz her mom is having a seizure? For the life of me I cannot think of the company, but when the caller says:

"as long as you can hear my voice, you'll be ok"

Oh yeah THAT'S really comforting Eh?

I've got another one...and this one irks me for obvious reasons:

Jeff Levy naming a list of HIS company's products, which includes, some some "newsletter" subscription, and every single week he claims that Jolene "ordered too many" and this is the absolute LAST week that this
unbelievable price will be offered. All with some very irritating music in the background. Rolling Eyes

(it's lengthy too)

DV,

I think that's a roadside assistance company..Onstar?

http://www.onstar.com/us_english/jsp/index.jsp

Oddly, that one doesn't annoy me as much as most others. At least Rashad or whatever his name was....let the child try to stay calm for a couple minutes.

(wondered why Mom had a seizure though...forget her medication, maybe?...how did a child that young know what a seizure even was?)

The ONSTAR's dont bother me too much, except for that one that had a fifty year old woman trying to sound like a high school girl who hadn't ever been kissed. 'Oh!! YOU can DO that?!?! Oooh, that's *wonderful*!!!"

They ran a 'homemade' commercial on KFI by some owner of some company who reminds us of the classic 50s TV show, THE MILLIONAIRE. He tells us that 'John Rumsfield Tipstom' would give people checks for a million dollars. Umm, yeah.

On the show, a rich mysterious guy named John Beresford Tipton would give a check to his operative, Michael Anthony, to give to someone Tipton felt might benefit form it. Crummy memory.

Even up to a few years ago, you could use the catch phrase, "Hello...My name is Michael Anthony" and still get a laugh under the proper circumstances.

Yes - Onstar. Thanks Crimson Very Happy . Another question about that child is how did he/she know to call Onstar? My kids have been instructed to call 911 in the event of an emergency.

Don - I agree with you - that Epson Ink Jet Printer commercial with the opera singer is ABSOLUTELY KILILING ME Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad !!!!!!!!!! They have GOT to pull that one. It doesn't just force me to tolerate it, but it gives me a headache too.
